Our values

Piade is a heart project of Global Shop Design GmbH and has been successfully active in furniture design and object design since 2020. With our new furniture creations and artefacts we want to convey positive and aesthetic values. Piade’s furniture design is made of natural materials and experimental surfaces with clever colours that create a holistic tension. Our philosophy consists of a counter-current to mass-produced products. Care, flexibility and longevity are realised with love.

Furniture design and devlopment

As a Swiss-Danish dual citizen, I completed my training as an interior and furniture designer at the KADK in Copenhagen. Afterwards I worked for well-known international companies such as Bang&Olufsen and Bodum, where I was responsible for the conceptual interior design of shops at home and abroad.  As a small company, it is a special concern of mine to personally accompany the projects from planning to execution in order to achieve an optimal result in terms of aesthetics and quality.

 «Teiggi»  pasta factory in Kriens

In 1855, the two Kriens entrepreneurs Xaver Degen junior and his brother Martin Degen founded the flour mill and pasta factory.
The present structural appearance of the former pasta factory mainly traces back to these extensions between 1900 and 1920. The pasta production was shut down in 1967, and the property was taken over by the municipality of Kriens in 1977.
Subsequently, the so-called “Teiggi” housed the youth centre and was also the cultural centre of the region.
The two factory buildings were renovated in 2017 and 2018, while three new buildings were added. Today, the estate consists of a colourful mixture of living, art and business.Since 2019, we have been working in our studio in the Teiggi, on Degenstrasse 1 in Kriens.
